My Tribute to Jim Dalton

I owe my market analytical knowledge to James F. Dalton (JD), who is fondly called as Jim & he has shared his concepts around market understanding in his best-selling books- Mind over Markets (2013) & Markets in Profile (2007). His core concepts can be summarized as- “ In any auction, Price moves over Time to generate Volume”.

Jim has made trading and studying the markets his life’s work for over 50 years. Jim has been a member of the Chicago Board of Trade as well as a member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and Senior Executive Vice President of the CBOE during its formative years.

He had worked at UBS Financial Services as a Director of Research for Managed Accounts. Currently he is a full time trader & educator; and also provide advisory services to trading firms. Jim is a discretionary trader and long-time proponent of employing the Market Profile to facilitate trading. Jim lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Let me remind you & its very important to know that technically Jim isn't a Market Profile trader; rather he uses it only as a decision support tool i.e. as a method to scientifically & creatively organize market generated information.
