Courtney D. Smith, in his book ‘Option strategies’, have opined that- ‘trading might make money is the motivation for the majority; & perhaps making money isn’t their priority '. He had mentioned following interesting reasons why people having no professional or survival skills do future market trading:

1. They want to be in the action of the market- thrill of it.

2. They want to predict the market.

3. They want to solve the puzzle called market.

4. They desire to unlock the hidden secrets of trading.

5. They desire to have perfect trading system.

6. They want to be right than making money.

7. Pure greed, i.e., they want to get rich very quickly.

More you assume that trading is easy, more likely you will take it as a gambling, which may lead to addiction of trading. Now relate this with SEBI’s report saying 90% traders lose money. When I say that trading isn’t easy, I am not trying to deter you from this intellectually stimulating & monetarily satisfying profession. Rather, I meant to suggest that there is a right way to look at and learn trading, and like any other serious profession, trading too requires a rigorous process which involves learning, practicing, journaling, etc. Sooner you adopt this learning paradigm, the better!

Here I am, fortunate enough to have got acquainted with JD’s concepts so early on; I have worked hard to internalize his concepts, unlearn the old habits, & build the newer ones (Recall James Clear's Atomic habits). My website www.arthdoc.in is an honest attempt to shade light on the harder but right path to learn trading, which is similar to the academic way of any professional education. I would repeat it again, trading isn’t easy; it isn’t a path to ‘get rich quick’ dream, contrary to the popular belief being propagated by many scamsters, tip providers & Finfluencers. You all must be aware of some Finfluencers being punished by SEBI for their frivolous knowledge & illegal practices.

My objective for this blog is that, any passionate trader who is hungry for the knowledge-first, & not for the unreal monetary gains; should feel assured that there is a process similar to academic learning, which when adopted may give an reasonable odds of advancement towards becoming an expert trader. It is a process whose underlying philosophy is Right Way trading. For such a trading aspirant, money will flow automatically as a by-product of his or her hard work & perseverance; but more than monetary gains, the intellectual satisfaction will be immense & it will definitely have a spillover effect on other aspects of life.

I welcome you all to ArthDoc.
